Potential Impact of Automated Writing Evaluation (AWE) on EFL Learners’ Writing Accuracy: Learners’ Attitudes in Focus

The present study aimed to examine the potential impacts of Automated Writing Evaluation (AWE) on Iranian English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ writing accuracy. Another objective was identify attitudes toward using AWE in classes. As such, 50 female EFL students at intermediate level language proficiency were chosen via convenience sampling participate study. They then randomly divided into two groups Control Group (CG) and Experimental (EG), each consisting 25 learners. Before treatment, a researcher-made composition pre-test administered both groups. Next, learners EG received treatment which an system employed check learner’s written productions. CG exposed conventional pen-and-paper methods Then, post-test administered. performances pre post-tests scored based accuracy terms syntactic errors. After administering post-test, asked fill questionnaire AWE.
